Writer/Speaker Bio

Upon completing a writing-intensive graduate studies program, Scott took time to reflect on the positive feedback and comments from mentors, colleagues, family, and friends and discovered new and exciting paths of opportunity in communication.

While Scott enjoys the experience of writing and speaking within his academic and professional fields of expertise, his true passion is to bring refreshing contexts to everyday living, to celebrate the ordinary and the extraordinary from unique vantage points, and to encourage and inspire you for the next step on your journey.

Since early in his career, Scott has published numerous articles in healthcare-related journals and entertained audiences at conferences and academic institutions across the country. In 2009 he expanded his reach, establishing Ivory Hill Studios (his personal writing and speaking business) and self-publishing his very first book project, Legacy of Love: Memories from Ivory Hill, a special-edition collection of the poetry and memoirs of his grandmother, Elizabeth Bond Rhoades, and a tribute to his family and his hometown of Nanty-Glo, Pennsylvania.

In addition to his first book, Scott also wrote his very first song, I’m Under His Wings, which was masterfully arranged by Adam Kohout and elegantly demoed by Dove Award winning and Grammy nominated Gospel Music Artist, Joyce Martin Sanders of The Martins. The song is published by Crossroads Music/Asheville Music Publishing/Chris White Music.

From 2009 to 2013, Scott served as the host of WMUG-FM’s Sunday Morning Light, a 90 minute inspirational program reaching local and worldwide audiences – encouraging and inspiring listeners to remain strong for their journey of faith.

It is from the home offices of Ivory Hill Studios that Scott continues to creatively reach worldwide audiences through blogging and freelance writing. Behind the scenes he is busy preparing new and exciting projects, including additional books, music, and podcasts.
